The Dominican business newspaper elDinero has published a new article by the partners of Reputation Lab, analyzing how social contribution continues to play a key role in building banks’ reputations, even at a time when its relevance is increasingly being questioned.
The article draws on some of the main findings of RepCore Banking, Reputation Lab’s analysis of banking reputation, whose latest results were recently presented in the Dominican Republic in collaboration with the Dominican Bankers Association (ABA).
Based on the findings of RepCore Banking, the article argues that while digital transformation, technological development, and service quality are essential for competing in today’s financial sector, they do not replace the importance of attributes linked to integrity and social commitment, such as equal treatment, access to credit, support for entrepreneurship, and contributing to the country’s development.
Its main conclusion is that banks build strong reputations by combining innovation, operational excellence, and efficiency with a genuine contribution to the economic and social development of the markets in which they operate.
